“Lupus is a chronic, complex and prevalent autoimmune disease. According to the Lupus Foundation of America, approximately 1.5 million people in the U.S. have lupus. 1 person in every group of 250 people may develop lupus, although it can occur in both men and women, 90% of people diagnosed with the disease are women. Despite all of this, Lupus is one of America’s least recognized major diseases.”
“In-order to raise awareness about Lupus and the Lupus Foundation in Utah, we distributed flyers at local community boards to achieve the primary goal of raising awareness, and utilized hashtags and different social media to achieve our secondary goal of engaging the Lupus community with the Lupus Foundation.

While doing this project i learned more about where message boards are located and where they are not, at first i thought this project was going to be really easy but as i started searching for message boards i realized that there isn't that many places that have them anymore and luckily i found a bunch of coffee shops in the avenues that did have them. This project will help me in the future if i ever want to know where message boards are and what target market looks at message boards.
I am going into Marketing and enjoyed this project as it will help me in the future as it helped me see some of the marketing aspects that i have read and learned about so far. This project has impacted the community by bringing some knowledge about a disease i knew nothing about and I'm sure others didn't as well, it also brought some color to the community with a ton of purple fliers around town.
